Continuing through 2010, the Pub PorkStar competition is part of the nationally recognised and respected PorkStar programme that aims to showcase the skills of pub chefs using the versatile and ever-popular Australian pork. PorkStar is calling on pub chefs to enter in their favourite fresh pork recipes in the coming months.

As the calibre of pub dining is rivalling that of many restaurants, Pub PorkStar gives chefs the opportunity to demonstrate just how far hotel bistros have come in delivering high quality meals to customers. Mitch Edwards, Foodservice Marketing Manager for Australian Pork Limited attributes this culinary growth to the distinct creative edge that pub chefs give to everyday pork cuts. “Creativity along with seasonality should be key aspects of favourite pork recipes entered into the competition over the coming months,” he says.

Over the next few months winning entries will receive a fantastic prize – the Classic IKON 3-Piece Set  of Wusthof knives. The set  includes a 9cm Paring Knife, 20cm Cooks Knife and a 20cm Carving Knife to meet all your culinary needs.
